In a negotiation, your opponents know what you want. If you beat around the bush, you will arouse suspicious in them. But if you keep trying to hide your intention, you risk them raising their guard. Meaningless pleasantries such as “my regards, to get to know each other better..” will infuriate negotiating parties who are trying to achieve an objective. Don’t hide behind useless phrase and your true intentions, they make you unremarkable and forgettable.
Start a negotiation by stating your intentions clearly. It will make you appear bolder and more trustworthy. This way, you stand out from your competitions. Be straightforward without being tasteless. Don’t hope for people to know what you want, tell them what you want.
