Friction in System

Lessons from Personal MBA.

Fiction is any force or process that removes energy from a system over time. When you have friction in your system, you need to keep adding energy to the system to keep it moving at the same rate. This reduces your efficiency and productivity. Friction is the force that will slow your system until it eventually comes to a stop. The more friction you can remove, the more you'll increase your system's efficiency.

Every business process has some frictions. The key is to identify areas with frictions, then try different methods to reduce the friction. When you remove small amount of frictions consistently, you will accumulate large improvements in both quality and efficiency.
