All of our actions have 3 components: breathing, movement, and structure. Each of the component affects the other two. If we move badly, our structure and breathing becomes compromised. Likewise, our breath impacts our body’s movement and structure.
2 quick tips to improve your breathing:
- Exhale — When you do an exercise that compresses your lungs, e.g. the going up movement of a pushup
- Inhale — When you do an exercise that expands your lungs, e.g. the going down movement of a pushup.
Practice these breathing tips and they’ll become your second nature. When done correctly, your breathing will improve your body’s movement and structure.
