The art of writing with clarity is not an emphasis at schools. Consequently, there are many adults who roam the corporate world with unclear writing. Unnecessary words and ambiguous sentences plague our mailboxes — we are in a pandemic of amateur writing.

Why do people suffer from bad writing? Because they have never learned to be precise with their writing in the world of generalisation. Writing needs fewer jargon and pompous words. Instead, writing well requires you to employ clarity, commons sense, logic, plausibility and precision.

Writing is the act of thinking. When you seek to write clearly, you train your mind to think through the topic. As such, unclear thinking is the cause of bad writing, while unclear writing is merely the symptoms.
