A great ad grabs the reader’s attention and translate it into a sales.
- Use self-relevant cues to shine the spotlight on the reader. Use “you” to highlight that you’re speaking to the reader directly. People always like it when the attention is on them, it’s more specific and relatable. This increases your chances of selling to them.
- Cliff hanger works because suspense makes people want to find out more. Use unfinished information or open loops that are purposefully left incomplete, this will pique your reader’s interest. You can use this trick on yourself too, left your work unfinished so you always have something to start with when you return to the work. In workout terms, they call this leaving one more rep in the bank.
- People are curious animals. Mysterious or ambiguous information grabs the reader’s attention and lure them into reading your ad. The mythical nature makes it compelling for your readers to find out more. Create a mystery, then provide some clues to its resolution. Your readers will consume your ad to resolve the mystery on their own accord.
